Are you thinking about making the switch to an electric vehicle?

Whether you enjoy the sleek, modern designs of today’s models, want to eliminate the cost of gas from your monthly expenses, or prefer to drive a more environmentally friendly vehicle, there are many reasons why electric cars are becoming more popular than ever before.

Unfortunately, many drivers put off their purchase because they’re unsure about the safety or efficiency of charging their new car at home. At Asset Electric Corp, we enjoy helping local home and business owners improve their electrical systems, and we want to do the same for you.

Reasons to Invest in a Residential EV Charging Station?

Our team of certified electricians are excited to offer a wide variety of innovative services for clients including electric vehicle charging station installation, EV charger repair, and EV charger replacement. Are you in need of an EV charger installation in New York or a surrounding community? Then call our office today and find out how we can help.

While some models of electric cars can technically be plugged into a standard outlet, doing so comes at great risk. The battery of an electric vehicle requires a lot of power, and some electrical systems may be ill equipped to handle your needs.

In addition to the safety features that charging stations provide, they are also much more energy efficient and can charge most vehicles in less time. This is important for individuals who plan on using their electric car as their primary form of transportation.

Commercial EV Charger Installation in New York

EV chargers aren’t just for individual drivers. Businesses can also benefit greatly from installing a charging station on their property. Gas stations, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, apartment complexes, office buildings and other high traffic areas can all make substantial profits by helping local drivers find more places to charge their favorite car.

Many companies are also offering access to charging stations near their parking lot or parking garage, as a bonus incentive for their employees and guests.

You are in the right place!

Here on the Asset Electric Corp Team, there are well trained and licensed electricians who can help with the installation of the electrical panel. They provide services to both commercial and residential properties in the New York area.

Do you already own an EV charger, but it is damaged or outdated? Then let the experienced electricians at Asset Electric Corp help. Ignoring issues with your EV charger could lead to many negative consequences including damage to your car’s battery or your property’s electrical system.

Asset Electric Corp — EV Charger Installation Specialists in NYC

Asset Electric Corp has been installing EV chargers across Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan for 6 years, backed by our founder’s 22 years of hands-on electrical experience. We are fully licensed (NYC License #13207), bonded, and insured.

Level 1 vs Level 2 EV Chargers

Level 1 chargers plug into a standard 120V outlet and add about 3-5 miles of range per hour — too slow for most daily drivers. Level 2 chargers operate on a dedicated 240V circuit and can fully charge most vehicles overnight, adding 20-30 miles of range per hour. We install Level 2 chargers for both residential and commercial properties.

What the Installation Involves

Installing a Level 2 EV charger requires a dedicated 240V, 50-amp circuit run from your electrical panel to the charger location — whether that is a garage, driveway, parking space, or outdoor wall. If your panel does not have capacity for the new circuit, we assess whether a panel upgrade is needed. We pull all required NYC DOB permits, handle all wiring, and install the charger in the location that works best for you.

Brands We Install

We install all major EV charger brands including ChargePoint, JuiceBox, Emporia, Enel X JuiceBox, Tesla Wall Connector, and Clipper Creek. We can also help you select the right charger for your vehicle and usage needs.

EV Charger Installation in NYC Buildings

Installing EV chargers in NYC apartment buildings, co-ops, condos, and multi-family buildings requires careful planning, coordination with building management, NYC DOB permits, and in some cases Con Edison involvement. We have extensive experience navigating all of these requirements and handle the full process from initial assessment to final inspection.

Before any installation we perform a complete load calculation for single-phase and three-phase electrical systems to determine whether your existing panel and service can support the additional EV charger load — or whether an upgrade is needed. This applies both to individual apartment units and to the building as a whole. A proper load calculation ensures your EV charger operates safely without affecting other electrical equipment at the property.

Service Upgrade When Required

When load calculations show that the existing electrical service cannot support the additional EV load, we can upgrade the service — increasing amperage, adding new meters, installing new disconnects, or upgrading the service entrance. Asset Electric Corp handles the full Con Edison coordination on your behalf, including opening cases with Con Edison Energy Services, scheduling and attending field meetings with Con Edison inspectors to confirm service layouts and load calculations, obtaining service upgrade authorizations, and coordinating the utility cutover. We manage all NYC DOB permits and Con Edison documentation throughout the process.

Dedicated Load Management as an Alternative

When a full service upgrade is not practical or cost-effective, many properties can use a Dedicated Load Management Device — a smart load management controller that monitors your electrical panel in real time. This device automatically reduces or pauses EV charger output when the panel approaches its capacity limit, preventing tripped breakers and protecting all other electrical equipment at the property. When electrical demand drops — for example, when HVAC cycles off or other loads reduce — the device automatically restores full charging power to the EV charger. This solution is often faster and significantly more affordable than a full service upgrade and requires no Con Edison coordination.

We evaluate both options for every installation and recommend the best solution based on your building’s electrical capacity, your charging requirements, and your budget. We serve homeowners, landlords, property managers, parking garages, retail locations, office buildings, and restaurants throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.
